Camping....sort of

Lily has been asking to go camping because she saw Caillou do it with his family this week. (For those of you who don't know, Caillou is a show on PBS). So, we decided to use our fireplace for the first time this year and try to have a camping experience in our den. I set up our play tent and Matt started the fire.
Lily & Sadie watching Matt get the fire going from the tent
We decided to roast marshmallows and Sadie got really silly with hers.
She thought she was really funny and laughed so hard she spit out the marshmallow.
Watching Daddy roast the marshmallows
The first bite of s'more......yum! Would have been better with chocolate but we didn't have any in the house and Lily wouldn't eat it anyway.
Me and my girls in the tent.
Bedtime!
Lily and Sadie really wanted to sleep in the tent and we were pretty sure it wouldn't work, but we decided to let them try. Sadie was just having too much fun and couldn't quite settle down. After she screamed for the 4th time, we decided she needed her bed. Lily did great, she was very quiet and we thought she might fall asleep but after about 10 minutes she was done. She said it wasn't very comfortable so she ended up in bed too.
It wasn't exactly like camping but I think we gave Lily what she was looking for. And we all had a great time, even Mia who had no idea what was happening but loved watching her sisters.

Grandma sure likes this idea. Wish we had a fireplace at school. Lily did you like the smores? Where's the pic of the new dresses?
