Christmas 2009

Ok, so I'm a little late in posting this but here it is :) We had a great time celebrating Christmas this year. We had 4 parties 4 days in a row so we were exhausted by the end but we had a great time celebrating with family. So, where do I begin? Well, Lily & Sadie got their first present when we put the tree up this year. Every year I give them an ornament and this year they each got a ball, Lily's was bright pink and Sadie's was purple. Mia got her ornament on Christmas Eve so she would have something under the tree too :)

On Christmas Eve our celebrations began. We traveled to Kalamazoo to my grandparents house and celebrated with my mom's side of the family. It was a full day and Lily and Sadie had so much fun. I think Mia had fun too but she slept a lot of the time. My cousin was there for the first time in a couple years with his wife and son. It was great to see them. That night we had our own little Christmas at home. We opened gifts while listening to the Messiah, a tradition that Matt insisted on, and then we had pizza for dinner at the request of Lily and Sadie.

Christmas morning we opened our stockings and although there wasn't much in there, the girls were very excited about all of it. I think they liked their toothbrushes the best. Then it was off to church and another party, this one was the Staal family. We had a great dinner followed by the opening of gifts. Lily and Sadie love seeing their cousins so they had a great time. Saturday we were with my dad's side of the family in Kalamazoo again. The girls were tired but they did very well and we all had a great time seeing the family. Then we had my parents, sister, and Yvonne stay at our house that night. Sunday my whole family gathered at our house for our last day of Christmas celebrations. Lily and Sadie got a soccer goal and soccer balls and were able to play with them in our den for a little while. It was so cute to see them playing soccer in dresses while wearing their new necklaces :) Mia did pretty good at all the parties, but by Sunday night she had had enough. I think she cried for a couple hours before she finally settled into a good sleep. Now here are some pictures from our Christmas.
